Lower Facelift

Home | Face | Facelift | Lower Facelift

As we age, the skin on the lower face can become saggy and loose, and the neck can develop wrinkles and creases. Dr. Frank Lalezar offers a personalized lower facelift to tighten the skin on the lower face, creating a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

Reverse Aging On The Lower Face

A lower facelift is a surgical procedure that targets the lower face, including the cheeks, jowls, and neck. The procedure involves making small incisions around the ears and under the chin and then lifting and repositioning the underlying muscles and tissues. The goal is to tighten and lift the skin on the lower face, creating a more youthful and defined jawline. Instead of changing your facial contours, a lower facelift simply rolls back the clock.

The Goals of Lower Facelift:

  • Tightening and lifting the skin on the lower face and neck
  • Smoothing out wrinkles and creases on the neck
  • Improving the appearance of the jawline
  • Creating a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance

Lower Facelift vs. Traditional Facelift

A lower facelift is a more targeted procedure focusing on the lower face and neck. On the other hand, a traditional facelift targets the entire face, including the cheeks, forehead, and neck.

A traditional facelift is generally more invasive and requires more extensive incisions, whereas a lower facelift is less invasive and requires smaller incisions.

Lower Facelift vs. Mini Facelift

A mini facelift is similar to a lower facelift in that it targets the lower face and neck. However, a mini facelift is even less invasive than a lower facelift and typically involves shorter incisions and a shorter recovery time. A mini facelift is also known as a weekend facelift because it refreshes your appearance and involves a downtime of 2 to 3 days.

Lower Facelift vs. Neck Lift

A lower facelift and a neck lift target different areas of the face. A lower facelift targets the lower face, including the cheeks, jowls, and neck, whereas a neck lift focuses on the neck, designed to smooth out wrinkles and creases on the neck and jawline. While both procedures can be performed separately, they can also be combined to create more comprehensive results.

Dr. Lalezar’s Surgical Technique

Dr. Lalezar is a board-certified plastic surgeon with years of experience performing lower facelifts. He uses various techniques to achieve natural-looking results customized to each patient’s needs. During the procedure, Dr. Lalezar will make small incisions around the ears and under the chin and lift and reposition the underlying muscles and tissues. He may also remove excess skin and fat to create a more defined jawline. After making all necessary adjustments, he closes the incisions.

Your Recovery Journey

After a lower facelift, you can expect some swelling and bruising in the treated area. These side effects should subside within a few weeks. You may experience numbness or tingling in the area, which is normal and temporary. Most patients can return to normal activities within a few weeks, but strenuous exercise and other activities should be avoided for 6 to 8 weeks. Dr. Lalezar will provide specific aftercare instructions to ensure optimal recovery.
